I do not like leaving reviews in general but this "experience" definitely deserves one. Me and my fiance went to Brillman's to get a quote for our wedding that was being held nearby. The person that worked with us was pleasant and went step by step through everything we needed. She assured us we would get a quote right away and we left happy. We waited over a week with no response. My fiance called them and they assured her they would get a quote out and they were sorry for the delay. Again another week went by with no response and I called and they assured me the quote would be sent out and the person doing the quotes was ill. I again gave them a chance. After they had not responded for yet another week, we contacted another rental company who was able to deliver for us even with at that point being 3 weeks out from the wedding. This seems to be a common theme with Brillman's with all of the other reviews and I would just spare the headaches and go with someone else.
Drove 4hrs round trip to speak with them directly. I explained as calmly as possible how incredibly upset I was that I had not received any info and none of our calls or emails were being returned. They apologized and sent our estimate and floor plans our that day... along with a few hundred dollars in discounts. I appreciate the gesture and it definitely helps with our bottom line, but I am self employed and essentially had to give my self a half day off unpaid to get there to go over it.
UPDATE**
Thank you Brillman's for everything you did! They just did my outdoor wedding, yes outdoor on one of the hottest weekends of the year. Everyone was so helpful and fabulous to work with, even bringing extra fans for the tent that I didn't order because they watched the forecast and wanted to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. We had nothing but a great experience. Despite seemingly newer office staffing, everyone made us special, we never felt like we were just another wedding to them. They really understood the bigger picture and what goes on, our caterer had misadvised on a tent permit, telling us incorrectly to disregard Brillman's information, but it was Brillman's who was right and followed through with us, literally saving the day - KUDOS! We couldn't be happier and will recommend them to all our friends.
I called a 2 months ago. I called 1 month ago. I called 2 weeks ago. I emailed last night. We are now less than 3 months from the wedding with not even an estimate. Now I have to take a day off and drive down there tomorrow morning and try to get it straightened out.
Same as the other review. We are also getting married at the Prallsville Mill. We went in March to pick everything out and they were extremely friendly and I would even say overly helpful. Our wedding is very simple and requires far less than most people since most of our stuff is going to be biodegradable/disposable. They said we would have an estimate and seating chart within a few days.
Very disappointed, especially because we have no choice in this vendor because you have to use them at the mill.
**UPDATE: Everything was delivered on time and as detailed. There was absolutely no problems with them the day of the wedding. Side note, Highly recommend hiring Dave at JustFoods. He works with brillmans a lot and is and excellent chef with great staff. He is an excellent resource.
