unacceptable. When we brought this up to the waitress, she ditzily recommended they reheat our 33.00 steak in foil and cook it even more so that our medium rare steak can become a medium well steak. Again totally unacceptable. We denied that for obvious reasons. Should've taken the steak off the check or offered to cook a fresh one.

Bottom line: This place didn't learn much from Gordon Ramsey's visit a few years back on the show Hotel Hell and the fact that this place is on Groupon for a discounted food voucher also shows the continued struggles of this place. Avoid this place at all costs. Not even worth going with a Groupon.

First the positive: Had the entire restaurant to ourselves. It was Memorial Day Sat night and we literally were the only ones there (found this very odd by the way). Atmosphere was nice with a quaint outdoor area to dine. We ate on the enclosed porch with glass enclosure. It had a nice touch of old and new.

Now the negative: Ordered the 33.00 Strip Steak. It was serve cold! It wasn't even luke warm. Again, we were literally the only people they had to cook for! Totally

The room was cozy enough but I was surprised and disappointed not to have internet access. No one at the front desk and my note of complaint went unanswered and the charge for $95 appeared on my credit card statement. Not happy, to say the least.

I ordered the 'sherry infused' mushroom soup. When I asked the waitress for extra sherry she had this look that was 'off' and she didn't know what to say at first. Then she finally said she would check with the cook. When she came back she stated the cook used the last amount in the soup. Again she looked suspicious and rightly so since I didn't buy the story. You can't infuse a soup when you're getting it from a can I guess? This is my guess since there's no way they just ran out on my bowl which tasted like there was not an ounce of sherry in it. You can not state infused when it was barely a drop!

Wife and I had dinner tonight at The Brick Hotel with another couple. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The food and service were excellent!! We will certainly dine there in the future.

Ok Ill try to be as fair as possible. First let me start by saying that I am fully aware this is a very old hotel, that is why I chose to stay here (I love historic sites). With that said, some things are just unacceptable. When I arrived to the hotel with my 2 year old and wife, there was no one at the front desk to greet me or check me in. Instead I was met by a sheet of paper with all of my personal information for anyone to see or take. This paper had my credit card number, expiration date, home address, first and last name etc...Me being in law enforcement, I was shocked that this information would just carelessly be left for someone to take. This hotel is also undergoing renovation to the restaurant which was also kind of a let down, I was hoping to have breakfast and dinner with my family. I was given the Ettinger room number 203. This room should not be rented to anyone period. The bed post was being held together with electrical tape. The TV was a very old tv / VCR combo. The cabinet which the TV is on has 2 drawers under it. When I attempted to open it guess what? they were broke. Just when I thought it could not get any worse I go to put my clothes in the closet and, as soon as I open the door, it was like a construction dumping site. The closet had a very old Air conditioning unit just thrown in there and a bunch of other trash. I could not even use the closet. This room was a nightmare, I could go on but ill just stop here. On the bright side the owner spoke to me on the phone and seemed nice, I also spotted a nice looking clean room on the way out, but my room the Ettinger is a disaster and I simply do not understand how they can rent this room to someone, all of the furniture is broken, the windows do not open, and the heat is unbearable. Also the room has no phone!!! no security on site or workers, so what happens in case of an emergency? This hotel has potential if they hire the rite people to actually fix these room. All in all be very careful staying here, if your a picky person you will hate this place.

We ate at the restaurant. Food and service was phenomenal. There was a little wait for things like drinks and food but well worth it. Everything was done with care. Playing and presentation impressed us. Food was cooked exactly as requested and we had a really wonderful evening. Try the Filet.. highly recommended.
