It has taken me quite a while to write this review. My life, (and my families) is in a state of flux, and so that explains the timing here. Anyhow, this storage facility rates very high with me. First of all, the location is wonderful. Very secure and the surrounding area is of the sort where crime is minimal. I have no worries storing anything here. The facility itself is very clean, fresh and well lit. One does not have to worry about anything here breaking down or in need or maintenance, unlike some facilities. It also offers a variety of units to meet your needs and even has a bathroom, if you really need one (which you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else). There is an on site resident who is beyond capable of making you feel values, and more importantly, human. She goes by the name of Jennifer. I cannot say enough about Jennifer. She gives a whole new meaning to the phrase above and beyond! We had some personal and even health issues and let me tell you, Jennifer was truly a ray of light shining through dark clouds. She was like a hand reaching down when you have tread water for far too long, and about to go under. If you meet this woman, do so with the warmest of smiles, because she deserves nothing less than that. She will, no doubt, do the same for you. Great facility, good pricing for the area and better yet, the kind of place I would rather be spending my money as far as storage units are concerned. I have the confidence in saying that I believe you will agree with me on these things and nothing is more important than feeling safe and secure when it comes to making the choice of storing your belongings away from home. Jennifer was great to work with. She made the process easy and was able to answer all of my questions. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone. Between the affordability of the storage and the friendly and professional manager, Metro Self Storage in Newtown has made my move so much easier!
This company is an absolute fraud. I have two units here and the company has raised my rent higher almost every quarter for no reason. I was under the impression that we entered a contract for long-term storage and certainly did not expect these substantial and constant rent hikes within the first few months of moving in. Its essentially a form of extortion. The rent hike comes, you don't expect it or look for it (I even have it set as automatic payments from my bank and pay them early every month), they hit me with a late fee on top of the rent hike and just keep doubling down on this strategy over and over again. The alternative is, I go get a Uhaul truck, load all of my stuff and unload somewhere else, or they will just keep on doing this. The most despicable business antics I have ever seen and hope others do not get caught in the same trap. Good luck and stay away.
Jennifer the lovely girl that works at the newtown branch,is always so charming and helpful! I was worried when the facility changed ownership,but it turned out quite alright. Willing to work with me when I lost my job for a time,couldn't be more happy there. Jennifer, the lady that works at the newtown branch is always very helpful and patient,never rude or snooty like the people over at my girl friends storage unit over at self storage in Bristol. Highly recommend metro to anyone with storage needs.
Jennifer was fantastic in helping us get set up at the facility. She is very personable and after meeting with her, I felt a friend was watching after our belongings.
